Barns and barndominiums for Northern Colorado

Northern Colorado Barn Builders builds pole barns, barndominiums, horse barns, post frame buildings, shops and garages. Our builder works out of Ault, on US-85 north of Greeley, and builds anywhere in Larimer, Weld and Adams counties: from Fort Collins, Loveland and Wellington to Greeley, Windsor and Eaton, out to the farm towns on the plains and south to Brighton and Bennett.

Every building is custom and starts on the ground: site prep and a pad that drains, footings designed for Front Range clay and set below the frost line, and engineered plans for the site's snow and wind loads. Then the laminated columns, trusses, purlins and girts go up, the metal roof and siding, the doors, and the insulation that keeps a building usable through a Colorado winter.

Tell us what you want to build (a hay barn, a horse barn, an RV garage, a shop, a barndominium or a home with a shop) and where the land is. The quote is free.

Questions

Barn and barndominium FAQs

Where do you build?

Anywhere in Larimer, Weld and Adams counties. Our builder works out of Ault, a Weld County farm town about 10 miles north of Greeley, and builds from Fort Collins, Loveland, Wellington and Estes Park to Greeley, Windsor, Eaton and Fort Lupton, and south to Brighton, Thornton and Bennett. That's 66 towns with their own page here.

What do you build?

Pole barns, barndominiums and shop houses, horse barns and loafing sheds, post frame buildings, shops, garages, RV garages, hay barns and equipment sheds, and metal buildings.

What's the difference between a pole barn, a post frame building and a steel building?

A pole barn and a post frame building both stand on wood columns, set in the ground or bracketed to a slab; post frame is the engineered version used for shops, homes and commercial buildings. A steel building stands on red-iron columns and rafters bolted to a concrete foundation. Most barns, shops and barndominiums here are post frame with a metal roof and siding; we help you pick what fits the use, the site and the budget.

Do you build finished barndominiums?

Yes. We build barndominiums as a dried-in shell you finish yourself or finished out to move-in ready, with the kitchen, baths, plumbing, electrical and HVAC done. Your call.

Are your quotes free?

Yes. Fill out the form or call (970) 632-1042, tell us the size, what the building is for and where the property is, and a builder gets back to you with a free quote.

Do you handle permits?

Yes. We work from engineered plans for your site's snow and wind loads, pull the permit with Larimer, Weld or Adams County or your town, and build to whatever the inspections require. Some agricultural buildings on qualifying land don't need a building permit; we check what applies to your parcel.
